Team members are taught the importance of cadence (horse's rhythm), dress (alignment of line or column), spacing of horses, precision of moves for the entire team, team appearance, as well as, appeal to the audience.

It is one of the hardest disciplines done on horseback and it takes a commitment like no other in the sport of horses. It requires great discipline for both horse and rider, team spirit, dedication and many hours of practice for a team to present just minutes of a well
manicured drill to the public.

Our mounted Team is formed recently as a group of friends performing under the name of "FEDERICO CAPRILLI MOUNTED DRILL TEAM". We ride under the guidance of trainer Maurizio Mesiti, the team plans to reach the objective of performing at various events and fairs and participate to Mounted Drill competitions.

Members are comprised of both men and women between the ages of fourteen through adult.  Members must own their own horse, possible a personal transportation, or we can provide horses and transportation where ever is necessary, but we prefer owned horses.

Practices are held year round each Saturday or Sunday at a convenient time.

Members are charged a monthly fee of ($30.00 not refundable) for instruction, advertising and later on for the use of the covered riding arena for practices if there is necessity to do so.

Double M Equine Services & Consulting of Maurizio Mesiti is the permanent sponsor for the colors (saddle pads, leg raps, white gloves and jacket uniform), rider must personally provide riding pants, saddle and boots.

In the future it will be the opportunity to find the necessary funds trough multiple private sponsorships in order to acquire uniformed bridles and saddles ( All Black)

The colors of the Team were defined at the first meeting and is "Navy Blue with a yellow trim"

Participation in a Mounted Drill Team is an excellent way to learn teamwork. In the drill arena, individuals and their horses learn to appreciate the need for discipline - the need to respond to vested authority, to follow orders promptly and precisely and to recognize the effect of their actions on the group as a whole.

Learning to follow is the beginning to leadership!

Lake Region Mounted Drill Team will do Demonstrations for the public at horse shows, will participates in Drill Team Competitions and marches in local parades.
